This week . . .

This week has been busy and blah... I've started loads of drawing and finished none. Just couldn't get my head into that wonderful creative zone where it all comes together.... Have been stuck on the side lines....  So I thought I'd share lunch with you.... the weather here has been fantastic. On Wednesday, Mum, Dad and I ate lunch outside in the front garden..... mid March... can't beat it.... lunch was simple... pizza, green salade and red cabbage salade.... and prickly water.....no school on Wednesday.... French Life... what more can I say....

Thank you to Kristin and Eva who liked my picture and posted on their blog....Checkout all the wonderful creative people that have come to party at Paint Party Friday..... "Chateau Bubbly Darlings"....anyone?...

Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap 3 . . .

Love can be like having the world on your shoulders...
Hi everyone, a little while ago I signed up for the Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap 3 hosted by Beth at Do What You Love for Life. Checkout what the others made... Stitched Postcards   The theme was LOVE.    This is the postcard that I sent to my swap partner... unfortunately I don't know if she received it as I have heard nothing, received nothing and she has not replied to my email...... I can only hope that she is ok and that whatever prevented her from taking part is not serious... if it is I hope my postcard bought a smile at least....
Love can make you feel like your on top of the world....
Love can be a bit wonky sometimes... my stitching went a bit wonky...hence wonky love....

For Sale. . . or . . . not for sale . . . ?

Just need to be sad...
Firstly, I'm not even a little bit sad.... this poor little girl just popped onto my page Thursday morning, no reflection on how I'm feeling at all... I finished her off today... All the time she's saying "sell me, sell me"...
So my question dear friendly bloggers... "Do I sell her or not?" and "how much?" and "would you buy her?"..
She's on good quality paper A5 size. I've used Indian Ink and watercolouring pencils and crayons...and all .. (She obviously needs redoing... as the words are falling off the page)...
Oh so cold...
This little lady is how I felt in Leeds, "Very very cold"... I sketched her while I was on the plane coming home.  I'm thinking of turning her into a greeting card (Christmas time would be more appropriate)... your thoughts and advise would be greatly appreciated... "Are my little creations good enough to sell?"

Pop over to Sophia at  Sunday Sketches... hope your all having a good weekend and I shall be popping by to see you all....

Happy Birthday Boogie Bear . . .

It's my niece Boogie Bear's birthday today... well what's left of it... she's Down Under so it's nearly tomorrow there... fortunately she got these two little cards that I made for her this morning... her morning
I made them postcard size ... Toggle's head moves and his tail wags...  woof woof..
Boogie's legs  move as does her body... I love her laces... they were a right pain to tie...
Miss Boogie Bedhead was inspired by my niece who as a baby I called Boogie Bear - no idea why but it stuck.. Happy Birthday big girl, you are growing up far to fast...

February Swap with Sweet Limes . . .

If you have popped by before, you may remember that I am doing an art swap for a year with B over at SweetLimes... We make something each month and send it out on the 15th or as near as....
She sent me this wonderful slide that she created... Teeny Tiny Creative Love... isn't it just wonderful... It reminds me of all the slides my Dad made back in the 60's when we were going from State to State with a U-Haul trailer attached to the car with everything that my Mum held dear... every place we stopped, out came the crockery and table cloths etc, all the stuff that said... we're home..... Thank you so much B, I love this....

This is what I made and sent B... This started as a little idea in my sketchbook... I showed it to my colleague and now the whole class has made their own watercolour forest... we have a class of mainly boys so decided to make monsters to go with our forest pictures instead of little girls ... I have had so much fun with this idea.... I now have moveable characters popping up everywhere ... have even made a bookmark for my sketchbook...
I have no idea where the idea came from... it just happened... I love that about art ... hope the ideas keep coming...

London . . . Leeds . . . in 5 days . .

Arrived at Stansted Airport London and took a train and underground to Waterloo, to stay one night with my friend Donna and her husband before heading off the next day to Leeds to see my daughter....

I nearly fell over when the British Rail man at Stansted Airport said £80 please - that's the return fair from the airport to Waterloo underground station for two people.... it's a half hour journey...gulp....ca-ching went my credit card.... Had a wonderful evening out at the Crazy Bear Club (am still getting over the train fare).

I haven't been back to London in years......LOVE LOVE LOVE the place... I grew up there, it was like going home.... I stood on Westminster Bridge looking at Big Ben and took in a great big lung full of polluted London air.... nothing quite like the smell of home.... Mr Hollywood and I had a fabulous time with my bestest friend Donna...

Just us being tourists...well, jus' ad to be done din'it......

A little stroll through St James Park - yes people feed the squirrels... and then Buckingham Palace... where the statues are gettin' a right royal spruce up for the Royal Wedding....how exciting....

The city gents have swapped their bowler hats and brollies for cycle helmets and rent a cycle....just lovin it...
Traffic stop please, Royal Guards coming through......

LEEDS

Busy busy busy....

First night in Leeds we went to the Jamie Oliver restaurant, the staff were lovely, very friendly... the food in a word "crap"... I ordered spaghetti bolognaise  it was raw, when I told the waiter this he said "No madame, it's al dente" Mr Hollywood had 12 hour slow spit cooked beef with a small heap of rocket salad.... (12 hours of cooking and well - Monsieur Hollywood said um...iz ok...nozing special) Rebecca had raw bolognaise, same as me  - oh sorry "Al (raw f...king) dente" (Sorry my London charm coming out there)....and lovely Boyfriend aka Duckling 2 had a burger.... all washed down with a very nice bottle of wine....and a bargain, at £73.... ca-ching...... won't be going there again.......

Fortunately next day we went to the Angel Inn, proper northern pub....three pints and three Steak an' ale pies with chips and peas later......lovely jubbly...all for just under £20...that's more like it...Mr Hollywood, he love it.... Proper man portion of food too.... ohhh and hot and cooked not a "Al Dente" in sight.....

Had to get a picture of this shop......Sewing machine heaven....... I drooooooolllllllled ......

Leeds was sooooooooooooooooo cold I bought a hat to keep my little ears from freezing off....
And yes that is a boat in the middle of town...and yes it's a bar...what else....

The arcades are lovely and Mr Hollywood and I don't look half bad in this photo.....

We had to drive up to Leeds and back again to London.... coz the train fare was ridiculous  £175 return per person.... but OMG the traffic in England is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.......

We had a lovely time....am now of course completely broke....I think the bank manager is going to say
"O la la"  "is a little over cooked" "Non non Al Dente
Am back home now... in France where Mr Hollywood can have bread with this meal and life is just a lot slower... I've got used to it... and I like it....

I'm back from England . . .

Sorry I'm late, just back from England... this is for Creative Tuesdays....Bedtime

Mr Hollywood and I are glad to be home....will sort myself out and get back to you all with tales from London and Leeds....
