Friday at last. . .

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your birthday wishes sent to my 98year old Grandmother...she says Thank you....

I'm so glad it's the weekend.... I had a major shock this week when I asked my 5year olds (at school) if they would like a story... they all replied "NO" bar one.... They said "NO" because having a story read to you by some Twerp of a Classroom Assistant (that's me) that reads a story in silly voices and then asks questions about the story to see if you've understood... is just to much like hard work.... I could have cried...
This is the first time that I have had children refuse a story....it's so sad.... My revenge was to the read the story anyway and ask questions to see if their little brains and ears were working... and next week there will be more stories and more painting and more sticking and more cutting out.... Oh the life of a child with me is no fun at all....

Am sharing this with Sunday Sketches...will be round to visit you all later, am now off to build a wall at my farmhouse....

haha I don't believe that for a minute. But still I can't imagine a child refusing a story unless they were playing video games. xoxo Terah

ah, this is a sad thing the kids not wanting a story. i wonder if it has to do with lots of tv and electronic games that move at a different pace. a world without story telling would be a life out of balance. sometimes adults have to make decisions.... i like yours: read to them anyway.

your art is so cute.

Children can be so entertaining sometimes but I bet you reading the story anyways was the sweet revenge :). Your drawings reminds me of children's stories illustrations.
Take Care

This is a sweet illustration. Love the little doggie and the expressions on the two girls.

I always enjoyed story time even when I was in elementary school. Maybe these 5 year olds will feel differently next week:)
