Mojo's on a tea break . . .

The lovely Manon over at Manonpopje's art was worried that her Mojo had gone... I can assure you it's still there.  My Mojo comes and goes...when it goes Walkabout, I wonder how long it will be gone for.  I like to think it just steps out for a tea break.  So with that in mind, here is the face of my lovely can't live without Mojo having a well deserved Tea Break...
What does your Mojo look like and where do you think it goes?
I'm sharing this for Paint Party Friday...  "Little Fun and Nonsense..."

Draw the line. . .

Last week I had the kids at school drawing portraits using only one line...they loved it and after the holidays they will be tackling objects. I came across Nora MacPhail via Sunday Sketches and well her one line drawings are fabulous...take a look (actually all her artwork is wonderful).  I was so inspired I doodled away... my girlies started life as top models in a fashion magazine and then I turned them into the girls next door that you could have a cup of tea with or better still a glass of wine and a good natter... Just a little fun and nonsense on a Tuesday afternoon xx

Teddy did it. . .

Teddy ate all the biscuits and wouldn't share with Baby Henry.  It was Teddy that shut Baby Henry in his room. I said that I wanted Baby Henry to play with us but Teddy said NO! Teddy said he would just mess things up...

Thank you to Black Pumpkin for the Award.  I was intending to have a give away today as I've reached 100 followers but it will now happen during the week....I'm sick...tummy bug...so I'm crawling back to bed...  Pop over to Sunday Sketches and see what everyone has been up too.

Let's go sailing today. . .

"Teddy doesn't want to go sailing today, he's hiding under the bed. Teddy says it's his turn to be Captain! Teddy says it's my turn to get captured by Pirates and be taken to an island where cannonballs boil you in a big black pot and eat you all up. Teddy says it's my turn to walk the plank and get eaten by sharks.  Teddy says he's going tell Mum...!"

A little bit of fun and nonsense from my sketchbook this week...Ahoy!

Pages of a book. . .

This was a little something that I sent to B at Sweetlimes for our February swap. We are now into our second year of monthly swaps... Blue Scarf is on 11x15cm cardboard
I started using pages from a book that I had lying around and now I can't stop. These are three of nine that I have done so far. Girl about Town is on a 20x20cm canvas. I'm about to tackle a 100x100cm canvas. The theme will be the same...lots and lots of houses. I must be mad... wooooo, don't all shout at once :)
Red popped out of the blue... Here's how I do them.  1. I prepare my background with gesso. 2. I paint my canvas one colour then with a piece of cardboard I scrape another colour over the top. 3. I stick bits of pages down with clear gesso. Then finally I colour in with ink, watercolour, pencils or pastels... et voila! a mini obsession going on... I'm sharing this with you and everyone over at Sunday Sketches
Please let me know if you use my Here's How...I would love to see what you come up with... Ta Ra for now...

Floating on a Love Cloud. . .

Happy Valentines everyone. . .this was a little something put together for a Completion over at Jane Davenport's Artmology Class. She has a fab way of breaking things down into bite size morsels... my confidence and drawing skills are taking off.... :) Yippee!!!!!!! I'm off to cuddle up next to Mr Hollywood . . .

What's your name. . .

Good morning everyone. Here is another little character that popped onto my pages this week. Boy, Rabbit, Granny Minch (from my previous posts) and Miss here are somehow tied together. There is a story there that I can't quite  get hold of. It's so FRUSTRATING...grrr! It's keeping me awake at night. I don't even know their names yet.
The illustrations for my first story are in progress.  My deadline to have them done is end of February. Then I will send them off and say lots of prayers and cross my fingers and toes that a publisher loves it enough to publish. I'll reveal the characters to you then. Not quite ready to step out of the shadows yet.
I have the bones of a new story and new characters that I'm excited about and can't wait to get started on. There are just not enough hours in my day to fit everything in. Hope you all have a good Sunday Sketches time... :) x

Sweet dreams Little Corbeau .......Night night and don't let the bed bugs bite :)

Monday and stuck at home. . .

Good Morning...this is a bit of fun and nonsense that I did for my last homework piece for Jane Davenport's I heart drawing class. I spent the day yesterday painting and drawing and will probably do the same today if I can't get my car out of the driveway... x

Sunday 5 February 2012

It's snowing here. . .

Meet Ivy, a little something that I sent to my friend B at Sweetlimes.  Ivy's arms and legs move, she's half glued and sewed. Had fun making her. I love sewing paper...and my old machine much prefers to sew paper than material....so for the moment that suits us both fine.....
It's snowing here, a rare event....so I'm holed up in my room painting and listening to Michel Bauble.... yay... am sharing this with Sunday Sketches.. :) x
