Storms and candle light. . .
Poor Horace has hurt his paw. He slipped on the wet cobble stones. He didn't want to go outside, it's wet and cold and very windy. He's fed up, that darn cat gets a litter tray....WHY can't he have one too?... it's just not fair.
I think Sukie is going to wrap Horace in a nice warm towel and cuddle his hurt away... He'll be ok...until nature calls again.
...........................................
This was a quick 5 minute sketch that I did last night...then the power went off...big wet storm came over. I got my candles out and tried to paint by candlelight....not easy, impossible really. We do need rain but it has been raining for over two weeks now... I'm on holiday, I want sunshine, hot sunshine...so I can go outside and paint in the garden...instead I'm holed up in "My Bunker" (as Mr Hollywood calls it). I've got two woolly jumpers on and my Uggs...my feet are freezing.... hope the Spring weather is better where you are.... a little bit of soggy fun and nonsense from me today..... xxx

Cupcake. . .
My little Mojo has been on safari this week. She was fed up with the rain that we have been having here. She saw an ad in the paper that read "Camouflage Boot Camp" "learn from the experts how to blend in". So just like that, Wednesday morning, she packed her little rucksack and off she went. She has sent me a picture of her with some of her new girlie friends... Arjana the leopard, Kagiso the giraffe and Themba the gorilla.
My little Mojo says they nearly fell out when they all spotted a cupcake on the path leading back to the camp. It was a bit of tussle to see who could nab the cupcake before the others... My little Mojo says there was no contest really Kagiso, swooped in with her long neck and cruuuuuuuuuuum the cupcake was gone.. Apparently giraffe's go mad for cupcakes especially when there is a cherry on top.

Errrrrrr. . . .
Molly can't remember what the question was...she knew the answer, then poof! It was gone. This happens alot...it's "oooh yes yes I know the answer" "um...what was the question again?..."
Molly was distracted by "Know it all" Jane, who was sitting there all bright and shiny and smiling. She had her hand up a smidgin before Molly. Learning is easy for "Know it all" Jane, she's not dyslexic.
Molly wants to be like "Know it all" Jane but she's "Know nothing" Molly. She can't wait to get home to hug and play with Hiccup, she's soft and cuddly and doesn't ask silly questions. Hiccup doesn't even mind when Molly gets things a little muddled up...

It's cold and wet here in rural France....wish I could have a Pj day... hope it's sunnier and warmer where you are... off to have some "Fun and Nonsense...xxx"

Waiting. . .
Some little girlies that I made. They are WIP's (waiting in-patiently) for a journal page or a postcard to adorn. One of these girls has her future set and will be flying off to cooler climes... the others will have to learn to be patient... a little fun and nonsense for Sunday Sketches... xxx

Dyslexia. . .
I'm not able to be very bloggy active at the moment. I haven't abandoned you, there just are not enough hours in my day. I'm spending my spare time helping my Mum to make my Gran's last days more comfortable...
Last night I went to a Dyslexia conference.... It was organised by the local Parent Teachers association. A Doctor came along and explained what Dyslexia was or wasn't... the room was filled with Dyslexic's and Parents of Dyslexic's and Teachers in mainstream school...
I have mentioned before that I'm dyslexic... for most of my life I was thick, then my thickness got a name of shame (back in the day)...then I just thought "Bugger this - I'm dyslexic, it's part of my charm... love me and my rotton spelling or don't...your choise... oh and by the way I'm Crap with a CAPITAL C at maths...! It's ok ...I'm only contagious to thouse that love me...." I also ramble on and on...
Back to the conference...Teachers and Moi (a classroom assitant) and everyone else waited and some of us asked, "What programs can we put in place to 1. detect early (I work with 5year olds - I'm seeing signs) 2. help on a daily basis in conjunction with the "professional" to give these children the skills they need to work around their particular difficulty ?
We got an evasion of the answer.... "The Professionals" (in France) like to hang onto their Guru status...
So this morning, my colleague (the teacher) and I (classroom assistant) changed our approach to some of the children... I spent more time with one child reading aloud the lesson and pronouncing syllables... an exercise that was given, ended with full marks as opposed to 0 when at first I had left the child to do it on her own. Happy exhausted me and more importantly, very happy exhausted child... a good day I think... :)
Yes there are spelling mistakes in wot I've just ritten....but hey...once upon a time...everyone spelt like a dyslexic...it was normal...until some "Spelling Correctness" fanatics took over the world....
I'm sharing this with Paint Party Friday... not my usual "Funn an NonCenCe"... :) xx
