First paintings. . .finished. . .?

Letters to a friend who lives far away....she's finished...sort of... there are a few things that I'm not totally satisfied with...the envelopes should have been bigger...the outline of her face is wonky...(wonky being a speciality of mine)...and her stripey legs are not as stripey as I would have liked - I'm not happy with the painting of the legs...it's rubbish when you look up close... But from a distance, with my good eye closed... "It ain't half bad..." Anyhow she is how she is....in paint...I won't be chucking her in "File 13" = (the bin)...

On a totally different note..."Congratulations to the American Female Football Team" they beat France tonight...BoooooooHoooooo.... I have one very sad French Mr Hollywood....he's been campaigning for Female Football for years.... The French Girlies beat the English Girlies (Boohoo Me) during the week and now it's USA v Brazil in the final....   LOOK OUT BOYS....the Girlies are coming.....!!!!

Sunday Sketches . . .

Not doing much today...a real lazy Sunday...just having fun painting...

I started these two this morning....had prepared my canvases during the week and was itching to get started... I've been wanting to put some of my drawings to paint for ages...about a year now...but each time I tried they turned out rubbish....so after many failed attempts I was beginning to think I was never going to master it. Then the "Eureka" moment happened.....and "TAH DAH"...   will let you see the finished results as and when they get finished..... am poottling off to see what all you lovely Sunday Sketches have been upto....

Getting ready for the 14th July . . .

Next week is Bastille Day....14th July....celebrating the French Revolution back in 1789–1799 when they got rid of their Nobility by very uncharmingly chopping off their heads....ooch!....... We are having 17people to a BBQ....and Mum wanted some name places....       Voilà...

Printed, cut out and glittered.....you can't have a party without a bit of glitter........ bubbly anyone?

We're all going on a Summer Holiday. . .

Looks like Boogie Bedhead and Toggle are off on their Summer Hols...  I think they may need a bigger car. . .

This is the theme for Mr Toast's Summer Break due today....unfortunately he has had to stay behind at the office so won't be able to get away till the 19th when we will be able to catch up with everyone else....

Art Journal . . .

These little ladies are painted on cotton and make up the front and back covers of an art journal I made for my daughter.... thought I would share for Sunday Sketches... have a good weekend everyone...

Sunday at the Château de Versailles. . .

Well it's been a month of weekend trips away.... our last weekend trip was  to Paris for a family do Saturday evening and Sunday we spent walking round the gardens of Versailles, unfortunately we didn't have time to queue for tickets and visit the Château....next time... What can I say, the Château and gardens are breathtaking. The sculptures and fountains are magical...... 

Take a little tour of the official site.... Château de Versailles   If you get the chance to go, you really need to do it over two days.  We met a Parisien couple who visit regularly and discover something new each time they go... We walked and picnicked where once Kings and Queens lived..... wow!!!!

Old fashioned handwritten letters . . .

I don't think there is anyone in the whole wide world who doesn't like to get a proper personal, snail mail, pony post, airmail, boat mail, handwritten, hand posted, crafted, yummy, scrummy, LETTER...... send one to someone special, anybody.... you will put a smile on your face and the person who receives it.... 

If you want to send me a letter just email me and I'll send you my address and I will reply.... LET's HEAR IT FOR GOOD OLD FASHIONED SNAIL MAIL..... :)

Shop Front. . .

Mr Toast's Shop Front.... My Cherry Pie shop,  unfortunately didn't include a shop door or window, I was in the world of children's imaginations where you see things that sometimes are not there.... so anyway I decided to play again...even if I missed the montage..... I will eventually finish colouring this in but for the mean time "Does anyone know where the Cherry Pie shop is?"
