The Owl and the Pussycat . . .

The Owl and the Pussy Cat has been popping into my head all week...hence while I was sitting in the Eye Doctors' waiting room (just a check-up) I sketched this... I don't think Pussy Cat is to happy about Mr Owl sitting on her head or is it Mrs Owl and Mr Pussy Cat.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to sail away in a boat...never mind the colour....and be back in time for tea....and all the problems left behind be sorted..... High seas and Pirates are ok in teeny tiny doses...coz I get sea sick...so set me to sail on a mill pond.....

I LOVE this book! I memorized it when I was a kid and still have it in my mind so it will always be a favourite. Of course in my book it was the cat that was the gal and the owl the dude.

This is so cute, Catherine! Owls and cats are my two favorites.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comment on my blog last week. :) It's good to know that I have friends out there who have been through similar adventures and can say that things do turn out well on the other side--adjusting to culture, language, making friends...

It sounds very exciting that you're renovating your farmhouse--I hope you post pictures sometime, because it sounds like a dream!

Oh this is lovely. When you finish you book it is going to be wonderful to look at. Yes that is just what I thought - the cat is not too happy with the situation :D

We were just discussing Owl and the Pussycat in my Children's Literature class. It is such a beautifully written little book.
