Oh. . .

Oh! . . . it's raining again. The sun pocked it's sleepy head out of the clouds for a bit and then decided to snuggle back into the clouds and go to sleep. It's not that cold but it's damp and soggy and I WANT THE SUN TO COME OUT AND PLAY!!!!!!!!!

I'm feeling sun deprived. I can't seem to shake off the lurgy that I had last week. My stomach is still feeling fragile so haven't had any coffee for over a week. It's not so off that I haven't started having a lovely glass of wine with my dinner every night. :D

I've been busy with my cloud girls and a new obsession - Giraffe's.
Giraffe and I have had long long conversations about what we are going to do in the Springtime. Both of us our dreaming about a long long long (everything in a giraffe's life is long) hot summer.
While I'm busy with my cloud girls, giraffe has been sniffing about trying to find the Springtime... which she  says is not far off.

That's all the Fun and Nonsense for today...

Cloud Girls. . .

Say hello to my little cloud girls. I can't get them out of my head. I keep drawing them, I have a sketchbook full of these cuties. They just keep floating out of my pencils and paintbrushes and plop onto my pages.  They are obviously trying to tell me a story that I should be writing down. They are whispering so softly that I can't quite make out what they are saying... I think I'll draw them a hoghorn, hopefully that will do the trick...

Rebecca and her fellow students reached their financial target to make their film. Big THANK YOU to everyone that supported them.

That's my Fun and Nonsense for today...stay warm and safe.

Tea for two or three or four. . .

I've been a busy little bee this week. I made a model of a bunny and one of my little drawings. The little girl in black. They are both waiting to be painted etc.  Also had a go at drawing creatures with eyes closed ala Carla Sonheim.  Three little girls  popped up in my journal. They had heard about my Fun and Nonsense stories and wanted a story before bedtime. A rather stern looking lady turned up while I was having tea and homemade white chocolate and pistachio muffins. (Yes I made the muffins and they are yummy). The stern lady loved them and said they were the best she had ever tasted. (Well der...I made them). I also managed to finish some other work that I had started over Christmas and a couple of postcards that will be posted tomorrow.... phew! off for a cup of tea, come and join me...I never know who will turn up.. :)

Just a little Fun and Nonsense .......Catherine xx

Memories . . .

Whilst I was watching TV last night, these adorable characters walked across my journal. The little girl was badgering her Granny to tell her a story. Granny was saying to wait till they got indoors out of the cold and where in front of the fire with a hot cup of tea and slice of cake.  Granny was saying that her bunions were giving her jip...and they were stopping her from remembering any stories.  "Wait till we get home, there's a good girl".

I think I'll bake a cake and invite myself round. I want to hear Granny's stories too...

Nothing quite like being squished up in an armchair with Granny, listening to stories, eating cake and balancing cups of tea on the arm of the chair, in front of a crackling fire.

Christmas is over. . .

Good Morning... I had a lovely time with my friend in the North Pole. Feeling very relaxed and refreshed I stomped back into my life and back into twittering robins and star searching.

It was hopeless, every star I came up with was refused. In the end I suggested to the robin's and the little girl that we make our own star. Robins' like making things, mainly nests and a great deal of mess.

So I cut out a cardboard star, the robin's and little girl set about ripping up the pages of an old rubbishy book. (If any children are reading this, ask an adult before tearing up books. Most books are special and must be looked after and cared for. And above all read).

Then the fun messy part began, we got some white runny glue and stuck the bits of paper all over the the cardboard star. Once dry we dabbed a little gold paint  here and there ...et voila.... A Christmas tree star that my twittering robin's were happy with.
To all my Family and Friends I wish you good health and lots of Fun and Nonsense for 2013

Christmas is coming. . .

I was chatting to this little girl yesterday morning, who had just happen to wonder onto my page.  We were discussing what colour I should use for her coat, when these three robins crashed in on us and started chirping and tweeting on about finding the Christmas Star. Oh, let my tell you, they were in a right two and eight. They are looking for a special star to put on their Christmas tree. When robins get an idea in their little bird brains, they get quite excited and there is no calming them down. Not even with a nice cup of tea and crumb of Christmas Cake.

I left them to it and put my feet up for awhile...
Then blow me, if I wasn't interrupted by this little dancer who desperately wanted to be on the top of my tree. I did point out, that she might not like having pine needles shoved up her jaxy. She's was quite adamant, till I stuck her up there. Since then she has been yacking in my ear to make her some reinforced padded knickers.  (Like I've got time to make padded knickers..)
So, what does a girl do when she needs a bit of peace and quiet?....she jolly well pops off to the North Pole to chat to a mate and his reindeer....  And that dear friends is my Christmassy Fun and Nonsense for this week . . .xxx

ps...Hope Christmas isn't biting you in the posterior.

Silent. . .

Strange how the world seems to hold it's breath, just before it starts to snow.  There's that eery silence, not a bird twitter, not a rustling sound in the hedges, just quiet, then those wonderful magical icy crystals start to fall.

It's not snowing here yet, thank goodness. I love the snow when I'm on holiday, not when I have to get to work... Hope your having Fun and Nonsense this week...xxx

Suffering to look pretty. . .

Good Morning, or for me it is nearly good afternoon. Had a late start this morning. Mr Hollywood and I danced the night away, with our dancing friends at a Dinner Dance evening in a local village hall. After not dancing for nearly a year (Mr H has a really bad back) we did manage to do a pretty good  Waltz. Our ChaCha and rock were ok. I also had a lovely partner for the Paso.  Miss not dancing every week.  Father Christmas, if you are listening, Mr H needs a new back.  And I need new feet. Put my three inch sparkly shoes on last night...am so suffering now. It was worth it...I LOVE my shoes.
They are way to pretty to leave at home.

These little girls popped onto my pages this week. Shame my buildings and perspective is so off. Need to work on that.  These girlies need to get home before dark falls. Home in front of a nice roaring fire, fluffy slippers and a warm cup of soap....

That's my Fun and Nonsense for today. I'm sharing it with Sunday Sketches xx
