Flying South. . .

Do leaves fly south for the Winter? Wouldn't it be great to hop on a cloud and follow quietly behind...
During the week, I was sitting on a bench during my lunch break, sketching away when this leaf plopped onto my sketchpad... I had to draw it...and draw it...and draw it...still not finished drawing it. Can't quite get the colour right. So I used a different colour altogether...

That's my Fun and Nonsense for the weekend...xx

Yes, the eyes are beautiful--great job with their shading and shaping--they bring your little characters to life. :)

i love your imagination and would fly south with the leaves if i could and leave the cold weather behind. (even though i live in sc, its still too cold for me!) Your sketches are adorable this week! (i also read the post about the 5 year olds. we didn't have tv when i was growing up. my parents thought it was horrible, so we read and played games and made things up, which was a good way to grow up. so keep up the good work with the kids!

These are super wonderful, Catherine. I love them both. I especially love the red cheeks in the first one. :) Hugs

Love these sketches... Especially the first as she definitely looks like she's blowing along on the wind with the leaves!
