Odd Socks . . .

Bonjour everyone..... managed to make it to Paint Party Friday... with Little Miss Washday Suzie...she's having a terrible time...she put pairs of her favourite socks in the wash machine but only one of each came out.... this isn't the first time it has happened either. She's so annoyed coz it's never her not favourite socks....humf...

I told her to use a washbag...then the naughty Sock Monster that lives in her washing machine can't pinch them...

When my children were younger, we regularly lost one sock in the washing machine.....my eldest daughter still wears odd socks to this day.....she's 20yrs old now.....  Does this problem only affect us or does anyone else out there have a washing machine sock monster?....  Hope you are all having a good Paint Party Friday...

YES, we have the same problem...I have a shoebox filled with my children's mismatched socks that I someday hope to find the match too - where do they go - why do they disappear??? Your illustraiton is quite adorable!!! and captures the feeling perfectly!
enjoy your Friday!!! xo

I have worn odd socks every day of my life since I was about 3 and caught on to my favourite uncle who did it all the time. :) I know I'm having a bad laundry day when all I can find is one pair of socks that DO match. :)

You just tell Suzie to embrace it and not worry, I see she's not wearing any socks at all...

Ha! This happens in our house all the time. Just can't seem to figure it out! Great idea to use a wash bag! A little extra time for organization would save a lot of frustration.

Your sketch is so sweet--I'm glad I linked up; thank you for your visit to my blog today! :)

The adorable Suzie is not alone in her dilemma. The dreaded sock thief has lived in every washing machine I have ever owned. Love your cute post today.

I think what the washing machine monster doesn't eat the dryer beast finishes off,, great sketch.

Great fun!

i keep a bag of unmatched socks and often find the mate but not always! I think I'm up to 20 unmatched socks.

Um, yes, we have a sock monster. But I'm suspicious it's really my son's bed, where he leaves most of his socks. :) Solution: Have all the same kind of sock, then they all match. Happy PPF!

Your painting is so very cute. I never had a sock monster in my washer. I do however have the husband who likes to leave his socks in the garage or his shop or his truck, and then I end up finding them AFTER the wash is done. :-)

Socks , pens, AND hair bands!! Our sock monster has branched out over here and taken to stealing other things too! :) Love Susie and her bare feet...often the best way to go :)x

That sock monster is a world traveler...he's over here in the US too. I'm trying to figure out if he's in the washer or the dryer, and then...he'll be captured and incarcerated.

I love your drawing! You've portrayed that frustrated feeling of always missing a sock.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I love your story of my fairy in the snowstorm ~ I think you have got the story just right!

Very cute painting this week.

The Sock Monster is universal. I only buy my son one kind of socks, that way they always match, no matter how many have disappeared.

Cute! I used to lose socks to my old washer and dryer all the time but it doesn't seem to happen with the new one.
