Sunday Sketches . . .

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments left over the last few days....one good thing to come out of the rioting...it has brought  communities together and hopefully made them stronger....there are still a lot more good people out there than bad.....

I've been playing with good old fashioned watercolour paints then added watersoluble pastels and pencils....my silver birch tree is appalling and so are the leaves in the background and my girl is looking a bit blank...but I'm liking the bugs and Mr Gecko....
"Ok Ladies...back up....I'm bigger"
"Oh, dear, Mr Gecko, everyone knows that males are so much better at reversing......"

This was inspired by a comment that Geckstone left ....about being distracted by bugs and stuff....take a look at her wonderful skink....amazing colours...

Looks like she's on a mission....not a masterpiece but I like the colours....reminds me of autumn.....uggg..

Pop over to Sophia's Sunday Sketches that is being hosted this week by Heather at Rose Hill Designs and have a peek at what everyone has been up too......

Wow Catherine...i love these...there is also something quite vintage-y about them that I adore..from another era..the loo in her eyes! Your work is gorgeous...and love the serene feeling from it...also magical and whimsical!! Beautiful work!! I am very captivtaed by your faces and the expression!

Well, I guess that's probably true about the reversing (and parallel parking too!!). It's very cute anyway. I think the ladies should just walk all over him!

(trying not to think of autumn....)

She's quite lovely! I like the way the gecko is peering at the ladies and the size increments of the ladybugs! well done!!!
Yes, i agree, the 2nd illustation has beautiful autumn colors - Olive green is one of my favorite all time colors. Thanks for joining in today! I so appreciate it!
