Getting ready for the 14th July . . .

Next week is Bastille Day....14th July....celebrating the French Revolution back in 1789–1799 when they got rid of their Nobility by very uncharmingly chopping off their heads....ooch!....... We are having 17people to a BBQ....and Mum wanted some name places....       Voilà...

We're all going on a Summer Holiday. . .

Looks like Boogie Bedhead and Toggle are off on their Summer Hols...  I think they may need a bigger car. . .

This is the theme for Mr Toast's Summer Break due today....unfortunately he has had to stay behind at the office so won't be able to get away till the 19th when we will be able to catch up with everyone else....

Sunday at the Château de Versailles. . .

Well it's been a month of weekend trips away.... our last weekend trip was  to Paris for a family do Saturday evening and Sunday we spent walking round the gardens of Versailles, unfortunately we didn't have time to queue for tickets and visit the Château....next time... What can I say, the Château and gardens are breathtaking. The sculptures and fountains are magical...... 

Take a little tour of the official site.... Château de Versailles   If you get the chance to go, you really need to do it over two days.  We met a Parisien couple who visit regularly and discover something new each time they go... We walked and picnicked where once Kings and Queens lived..... wow!!!!

Old fashioned handwritten letters . . .

I don't think there is anyone in the whole wide world who doesn't like to get a proper personal, snail mail, pony post, airmail, boat mail, handwritten, hand posted, crafted, yummy, scrummy, LETTER...... send one to someone special, anybody.... you will put a smile on your face and the person who receives it.... 

If you want to send me a letter just email me and I'll send you my address and I will reply.... LET's HEAR IT FOR GOOD OLD FASHIONED SNAIL MAIL..... :)

Shop Front. . .

Mr Toast's Shop Front.... My Cherry Pie shop,  unfortunately didn't include a shop door or window, I was in the world of children's imaginations where you see things that sometimes are not there.... so anyway I decided to play again...even if I missed the montage..... I will eventually finish colouring this in but for the mean time "Does anyone know where the Cherry Pie shop is?"

Dolly Long Legs. . .

Tah dah.... Dolly Long Legs, has very long legs, crocheted dress over cloth body and paper clay arms, legs and head..... finally got around to finishing her today..... she is Eldest daughters Birthday pressy... we are celebrating tonight as Big Girl is off back to England on Saturday.... her real Bday is the 13th June... lucky for me....

Shop Front . . .

The last time we saw Boogie Bedhead and Toggle they were stuck in the cherry tree....  Spencer Dubs (who is sweet on Boogie) just happened to float by in his hot air balloon, he bought them both gently down to earth... saving the the poor sheep from being jumped on to break their fall....phew....

Boogie and Toggle managed to pick lots of cherries to sell in Mr Toast's theme of the week Shop Front.....
